(Birthright)

Esau was right when he said;
"I am about to die;
of what use is a birthright to me?"
Right doesn't always make Truth,
He could scarcely see past
the momentary hunger
that builds his temporal desire,
The question is;
Was it worth the sacrifice?

We like Esau, are often right,
We replace the Truth for being right,
We are eager to sell our birthright,
We contend against our conscience,
Often silence the soft voice
That whispers the Truth in our ears.
Hungry at this moment;
Once we have our fill
Sooner or later, hungry again
The question is;
Is it worth the sacrifice?

Eagerly, we give in to esurient desires
That bid us far from the Truth
But closer to being right,
That makes selling our birthright
The axiomatic option.
If you go back in time
Please ask Adam this simple question;
Was it worth the sacrifice?
