There was a hall,
Magnificent in structure,
Grand in his physique.

Other walls get jealous,
Built to withhold a greater crowd,
His pride grew stronger.

Who is greater than me?
He often mock other halls,
For they are used as overflows.

A turn of the event;
At the master's request,
Renovation is needed.

The great wall turns desolate,
Men at work - do not enter,
O Great hall, where is your glory?

Though his trial endures for a while,
He's come to realise;
His glory comes from the architect.

His glory was never his to take,
He can be filled or emptied,
Just as the master permits.

A great or a small hall
Of what use would you be
If no one can enter at all?
