Au Contraire

(On the contrary)

Days like this,
Hardly turn to testimony,
But the truth we fancy,
We must confess it.

Memories linger still,
'Cos we can't deflect
The raging wind of reality.

On the wings of time;
Steadily we often fly,
Thinking we are all fine,
But, dear old time;
Upon whose strength we can't rely.

Not too long,
We're back on course;
Sailing further than before,
Anchored, we carry on.

Many laughed at us,
Many to us mocked,
They've forgotten;
Life happens to us all;
It is better to fall and rise,
Than to have never fallen at all,
De lo contrario;
We all suffer from the fall,
Time and chance happen to us all.
