Ihe- Light

111 words·56s read
The fire that burns within
sets us apart from our kin.
The flame feels hot
But it soothes our souls.
A gift we receive, not created by us,
links us to a much greater light.
As we begin to shine forth,
The radiance that ensues screams glory.
It shines through, and it's true,
The same light quenches our pride
and speaks aeons through our mouths.
We testify, without fear but courage,
Not as though we boast of ourselves,
When we're asked, "Why?"
With joy, we open our mouths wide;
Not by power or might,
But by the Spirit - the light.
In glory and grandeur, shine,
Yet not yours, but Christ's.
