Trash Leading to Treasure

153 words·1m read
The path is rough, heading to the top.
Many have come and gone,
They feel the same as I do.
Travelling this wadi heading up the hill,
The peak seems near; I will press on still.

Follow the trash, not carelessly,
This painful path leads to glory.
One shed at a time, each secret sin,
The strife against my trashy flesh
Leads to a far greater treasure.

Set apart to serve,
Not of my own power,
This I know is true,
Not alone on this path,
My brothers are here too.

Mount by mount, the narrow path,
Holiness, a gift we don't deserve,
To partake in the beauty divine,
To receive the glorious crown,
Oh tis worth it to be set apart.

Set apart by Christ,
To live a holy life,
The path is hard, my flesh protests,
But grace bids me calm, Spirit prevails
Indeed, I am set apart for Christ.
