We think we are focused

But the truth is we've lost our call,
We work and get so consumed
Thinking success is getting all we can from life
We end up losing peace,
While comparison drives us mad.
We'd say:
If only we could add this or that
We ride the wheel of pride
And feed our flames of ego.

This happens to us all,
All of humanity is under this curse
Satisfaction has become a price to pay
While you're not good enough
Has become a norm we say
We mount up bricks of beautiful designs
We desire more heights even when it's late-night
We never nurture what we have at hand
But we chase that which is yet to come

Chase after the wind.

It's a plague and we are all infected
From one rising sun to the other
We work and forget our essence
We chase after what never last forever
We build security around what could fade overnight
We forget satisfaction is never about how much we acquire
We run a race we never meant to even start
And it becomes harder to stop or take a pause
We see our neighbours as competitors
I am better than thou become our slogan
We meet to discuss how far we've gone
How much we've acquired
And how much more we want

We forget we are not here to last forever

Forever is now and salvation is today
Don't be deceived by the gainsayers
Who charmed you into thinking;
You're mightier than what you are?
Kings and queens for sure
But not to be defined by riches that fades
To love and be loved in humble adoration
Giving glory to God is our very essence
Sharing the love which you've been called unto
Serving one another in humility and genuine love
Take a pause and reason with me.
