Simulacrum

(A slight, unreal, or superficial likeness or semblance; an effigy, image, or representation)

Do not eat the forbidden fruit,
It is fine; says another.
They bend their will to yours,
They sacrifice their fatlings,
Some go extreme to prove their loyalty,
Some need not move an inch
To be counted worthy,
Some believe, some don't,
The truth is; both ways require faith,
They all worship a god
Supreme or not, above or below,
They claim righteousness and seek approval
In the name of faith,
To their gods, they bow,
And their lives tell the story
Of who or what they worship,
Greed and pride drives their heart,
and self-morality is altered for faith,
No one is righteous, no, not one.
A question never bid far from me;
Which God do they worship?
The one they created or
The one who created them?
They can't have both,
And they can't live without worship.
