The Century Of Dreamers

168 words·1m read
I had a dream in my dream;
I saw myself dreaming a dream in a dream
On an island far from real.

I took a tour around the city,
Everyone was sleeping and dreaming,
And I could see clearly
That they were dreaming about dreams.

‘Tis a dream island I think,
There is nothing real,
It’s only fantasy.

I began to wake from every dream,
From one to another- a long journey,
Feels like I’m teleporting,
Getting harder to come out of each.

It’s a journey through dreams
And I was confused about it,
Where each dream would lead?
It’s scary to think.

It feels I will never come off my dreams,
My heartbeat
Pounced as though about to break my ribs,
As tears gushed like a stormy sea,
And fear sealed my lips.
I’m back to the land of the living,
I know what has happened to me,
Never will I find pleasure in mere dreams,
But to wake up and start living real.
