The Irony Of Truth

109 words·55s read
Why do we live?
Roaming through the earth’s course,
From sunrise to its set,
Under the huge sky’s blanket,
In the dark days
And even at the brightest
Just to end up dead someday?

Why do we live?
Knowing it’s all for a moment,
Some fight daily,
While some live with ease,
Through the winds and storms,
We face it all,
The weak and strong,
It doesn’t matter at all.

Why do we live?
In cages and cans,
Some fancy, some trashy,
Without sympathy or empathy,
We know we own nothing,
The earth is not ours anyway,
Yet, we live as though we own it all.
