Time Waits No More

207 words·2m read
Going through life one step at a time,
I open my heart; I’m open to all,
Through my trip, I held on to my dream,
But tick-tock tick-tock;
Said the clock.

Time went by and bye,
Life gave signs; I declined,
Then a race I started against time,
With every of my will for prime,
I ran fast to beat time,
But tick-tock tick-tock;
Said the clock.

It won’t wait, even when I fall,
Laughing on and lumping through,
While my dream’s not yet true,
Time eluded so soon.
As tick-tock tick-tock;
Said the clock.

Held me captive,
With an old fist, wretched and cold,
Darkness was my cage,
So far, so soon,
I was out of the race,
But tick-tock tick-tock;
Said the clock.

Down beneath the earth, I lay,
Thus, end my fancy trip,
More or less I’ve achieved,
But man can never be satisfied
‘Cos tick-tock tick-tock;
Said the clock.

Shut, in my dark cold grave,
With my dreams laying with me,
This is the end; I think,
Time to finally rets in peace,
But tick-tock tick-tock again;
Said the clock.

Laughing on and lumping through,
Going after being like you,
A warning to all the living,
Time waits no more.
