'Tis about our heart

355 words·3m read
Seeing isn't always believing
And sight can't solve all mysteries;
Ask the sons of Jacob about their journey.
Faith goes deeper than sight,
Those who were saved from wretched life,
Those called into a new life,
They walked, but not as they were called.
Canaan wasn't that far!!!

Canaan wasn't far,
But unbelief bred doubts,
Though they see the signs and wonders,
The sprinting seas, the splitting rocks,
Mysteries great enough to gain their trust,
Though they saw, yet they never believed,
Indeed, sight wasn't the problem!!!

Sight wasn't the problem,
Don't bother a trip to Jerusalem,
Even those birthed out of Bethlehem,
The truth never really bothered them.
Not every seed sown becomes a tree,
They know all the scripted laws like a Pharisee,
They know, yet they never understood it,
Knowledge was never lacking!!!

Knowledge was never lacking,
Ask the gullible Broadway,
How she fell for the trap of the passing trickster.
Ask the proud Mr Know-it-all rock,
Who couldn't hold on to the gospel truth,
Little heat, soon ready to wither.
Ask those blinded by fame who lived amidst thorns,
Those whose worldly riches couldn't save their soul.
He who has ears, let him hear,
But hearing wasn't the issue!!!

Hearing wasn't the issue,
Knowledge was never lacking,
Sight wasn't the problem,
Canaan wasn't far,
But the heart was the problem!!!

The heart is the problem,
As we often forget to consider
The redeeming truth of the Gospel.
We plan through the schemes of time,
We often forget to walk daily in this Truth,
We often forget it's never about the trials nor the temporal joy,
Tis about our heart
Our faith!!!

Our faith,
Our faith is believing in the gospel truth,
Believing is living in the gospel truth,
Living is growing in the gospel truth,
Growing is bearing fruit in the gospel truth,
Bearing fruit is working in the gospel truth,
Working is visible in the gospel truth,
Visible to all.

Don't just see,
Don't just know,
Don't just hear,
But, work out your salvation with fear and trembling!!!
To the glory of God
Till Christ returns.
