Through the trials
Through the troubles
Through the fire
Of the fearsome rubble,
Through the thick
And the hurtful thin,
Through the flames that burn within,
Through the death of the flesh
And the birth of the spirit
Through the pain of bloody test
And the temporal sigh of relief,
Through the taste of gall-
A shadow of the gnashing to come
Through the taste of momentary joy-
A shadow of our glorious home,
Through the school of life-
Authored by the Father Most High.
In patience, we await His return
Not as though we have our excellence,
But love in grace counts us worthy.
Through the grand design-
The same from the beginning,
Through the Love second to none,
Through the blood He sheds for us:
A Lamb right and pure
Whose curse sealed our hope,
Through the Spirit the comforter,
The breath of true living,
Through the one true King
Whose wrath in love satisfied,
Through the one true Father,
Through the living bread-
The same which we earthly share
As we anticipate the glorious banquet,
Through the gift of eternal life-
We shall live and never die,
Through Grace, we've been saved and brought nigh.
