There's a woman

477 words·4m read
She works hard all her days,
Yet, has nothing to show for it,
Her offspring are the worst in the city,
She neglects to teach them; she's too busy,
Painful is the fount of her womb,
Her lover detests her,
Though riches and fame she acquires,
But restless are her days; she never retires.

There's a woman;
She works very little
She takes breaks so often,
She goes home as early as she can,
Just to spend her time with her loved ones,
She owns a castle to her name,
Her offspring flourish before her eyes,
Unlike any other woman... she has no king, her husband.

There's a woman;
Befitting every home,
Beautiful as beauty can be,
All kings wished her to be theirs,
All queens envy her; they say she's proud,
Her fame goes beyond her kingdom,
She owns the most yards in the city,
Unfortunately, she still has a lazy man as a king
And there's no end to her misery.

There's a woman
A comely and lowly one,
She's meek and kind,
She speaks like the morning bird that sings
She works on time and rests just in time
As perfect as she's seen by others,
Peace was never hers at home,
Tears at night for dinner
Yet she smiles by day- just a veil she wears.

There's a woman;
Her Love is real, she's completely genuine,
She's loved by her king as well
Even on a sickbed, she desires to serve her lover
When she sees kids, she smiles, and they love her too,
But, she too has her mystery,
Her womb is shut;
Offspring of her own she's never seen.

There's a woman
She produces her seed just in time
She lives with her lover, and all feels fine
She's everything a mother should be
She's all a wife should ever be
She's never shunned in the streets
At home, her voice is heard,
There is wisdom in her tongue,
Tragedy strikes; her lover fell ill,
Soon was kissed by death,
She's left alone with her offspring,
Terrible news she received at sixty,
Her only child has been kissed by death, too.
All she's built collapses before her eyes.

There's a woman
Her travail starts early,
She seems to be cursed,
No one would come near her,
A breakthrough came from far
When she found a man to love her,
He's been waiting too, and now they've had a baby.
She's happy and now living in the joy she's always wished.
Amidst this joy of hers, her life on earth was cut short,
Never did she enjoy it all for long.

Here are the women I've seen,
But there's another woman I've found,
Her joy was never rooted to the earth,
Pleasures on earth are nothing but shadows,
She enjoys her days and lives freely,
Her secret: Eternity is truly Home
