Teacher’s Day

155 words·1m read
Those who with much at stake
With less of the world to take,
To battle illiteracy and bring knowledge to light,
The call was sent out, the chant was loud,
Many who heard it could not the height mount,
Save only a few; brave and mighty
Worthy is their mighty sword,
Piercing every dark thought,
And shaping every crooked path.

Much at stake, yet they never give up,
They bleed white talc that turns to scars,
They map the lines of culture, science, beauty and art,
They split the hardest rocks of minds
And find every hidden gem, no lies.

Years may pass by, time may flutter on,
Your name in our hearts stays on,
Upon the mount of fame and glory,
Your names build the foundation,
Never to be forgotten, never to be ignored,
We join together with a glorious chord,
We sing aloud your praises,
and celebrate your days
Happy teacher's day!
