The Philosopher’s Speech

128 words·1m read
My dear;
Don’t be bitter,
Don’t be sour,
‘Tis life and it’s not going to change,
‘Tis a broken world we live in,
Listen to the philosopher’s speech;

“What is the use thereof?
When you, in pain, endured much,
And soon ready to give up.
Your struggle comes to nought,
When at once you yield,
It’s all just storm, you see,
Many more are yet to come;
Good days or bad ones,
You can’t know for sure
Don’t you wish to know?
How it feels after you’ve coped.
Stay with me a little while”.

Oh my dear,
Don’t be bitter, don’t be sour,
The shore is not far off,
Why then give up?
For you never can tell or know,
What lies at the shore.
